Our 3 individual guest houses are nestled under native trees in a private hidden cove along the Morete River. Conveniently located only 1 kilometer off the Costanera highway, our location offers quick and easy access to beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and adventures. From your jungalow it is a 5 minute drive to the small town of Uvita and the lovely beaches of Playa Ballena, Playa Colonia, and Playa Hermosa. Dominical, the infamous surf town with its funky bohemian beach bar vibe, is only a 10 minute drive north.
At our hidden river cove location, you will feel a million miles away, but are so close to everything!
We are conveniently located 1 kilometer north of the small town of Uvita, on a magical riverfront oasis. Mother nature is happy here. We have a resident 3-toed sloth we call "Slothy"...see her climb our bamboo in the above video. Tropical plants, fruit trees and brilliant flowers flourish in the rich jungle soil. The fresh clean river water attracts many different water birds who prey on small fish and river shrimp. We have spotted a family of an endangered river otter swimming in the river, and wild pigs - pecaries - searching for food on the river banks. Toucans and aricaris love the sweet papaya fruits which are plentiful most of the year on our property. Howler monkeys welcome the sunrise with their distinctive roaring barks, and white-face monkeys often grace us with their presence in the surrounding forest-just watch for movement of tree limbs swaying in the tree canopy. Scarlet macaws, who mate for life, frequent the native Havillo trees on our property, which produce a seedpod that is one of their favorite foods. Experiencing a full moon on the river is surreal, with moonlight illuminating the river rocks making them glow in the dark. On certain occasions, lightning bugs hover over the garden floor, looking like a million tiny stars twinkling in the grass. Come see for yourself what surprises await you. All you have to do is sit still, look, listen and enjoy.
